Chris Farley on SNL, five questions and a hug
On 13 February 1993, Paul McCartney walked into Saturday Night Live for Alec Baldwin’s episode and sat opposite Chris Farley on The Chris Farley Show. Farley’s five nervous questions (Remember when you were with the Beatles? Remember when you were in Japan?) end with a hug; McCartney, promoting Off the Ground, plays along with perfect patience.
The sketch became one of SNL’s most replayed music moments: a Beatle treated like a living museum exhibit, and a comedian who cannot believe he is allowed to ask.
