El 13 de febrero de 1984 Motown public\u00f3 Hello<\/em>, tercer sencillo del segundo \u00e1lbum en solitario de Lionel Richie, Can’t Slow Down<\/em>. Richie escribi\u00f3 la canci\u00f3n y la produjo con James Anthony Carmichael, el arreglista que trabajaba con \u00e9l desde los a\u00f1os de los Commodores en Motown. La grabaci\u00f3n es de 1983. Bob Giraldi dirigi\u00f3 el v\u00eddeo. Ya hab\u00eda hecho Beat It de Michael Jackson y Running with the Night<\/em> de Richie. Hello<\/em> no ilustra tanto la letra como inventa un corto alrededor. Treinta a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, Richie segu\u00eda explicando la cabeza de barro.
