Green Is The Colour es la canci\u00f3n tranquila de More<\/em>, la banda sonora que Pink Floyd escribe para la pel\u00edcula de Barbet Schroeder. Graban el \u00e1lbum en Pye Studios, en Londres, a principios de 1969, con el ingeniero Brian Humphries, y EMI Columbia lo publica en Gran Breta\u00f1a el 13 de junio de 1969. Es el primer disco que el grupo produce sin Norman Smith en la mesa, y el primer \u00e1lbum completo despu\u00e9s de la salida de Syd Barrett. Roger Waters escribe este tema. David Gilmour lo canta y toca la guitarra ac\u00fastica.<\/p>\n

El arreglo es peque\u00f1o. Richard Wright toca el piano y el \u00f3rgano Farfisa. Waters toca el bajo. Encima, un tin whistle, tocado por Lindy Mason, entonces mujer de Nick Mason. El tema dura poco menos de tres minutos. En una introducci\u00f3n de concierto en 1970, Waters le dice al p\u00fablico que habla de estar en Ibiza, donde Schroeder sit\u00faa la pel\u00edcula. En el disco, la canci\u00f3n se queda pastoral. No intenta ser el resto de la banda sonora, que tambi\u00e9n tiene el riff duro de The Nile Song<\/em> y largos instrumentales.<\/p>\n

En directo no la dejan tan peque\u00f1a. De 1969 a 1970 es una pieza el\u00e9ctrica m\u00e1s lenta, con el \u00f3rgano de Wright debajo, y casi siempre cae directo en Careful with That Axe, Eugene<\/em>. Gilmour hace scat sobre la guitarra al salir. En el espect\u00e1culo de 1969 que llaman The Man and The Journey, Green Is The Colour<\/em> pasa a llamarse The Beginning, y la pieza del hacha que sigue se llama Beset by Creatures of the Deep.<\/p>\n

Para entonces Meddle<\/em> es el disco que est\u00e1n terminando, y esta balada de Ibiza ya es una canci\u00f3n m\u00e1s vieja, salida de un trabajo de pel\u00edcula hecho en una sesi\u00f3n corta en Londres.<\/p>\n

More<\/em> es una banda sonora, no un manifiesto. Green Is The Colour<\/em> es la parte que se queda suave en la cinta: guitarra ac\u00fastica, \u00f3rgano, un tin whistle, y un enlace hacia el hacha que solo aparece cuando se llevan el tema al escenario.
