Bold<\/em> est en deuxi\u00e8me position sur As You Were<\/em>, le premier album solo de Liam Gallagher (Warner Bros., octobre 2017). Il l’\u00e9crit seul. Le producteur Dan Grech-Marguerat (avec Iain Archer en cr\u00e9dit additionnel) garde les guitares ouvertes et la voix s\u00e8che, plus proche du tempo ballade Oasis que des singles Greg Kurstin ailleurs sur le disque. Paul \u00ab\u00a0Bonehead\u00a0\u00bb Arthurs ajoute de la guitare, pont discret Beady Eye \/ Oasis vers l’\u00e8re solo.<\/p>\n

La vie publique du titre commence t\u00f4t. Le 26 juillet 2015, au pub JJ Finan de Charlestown (comt\u00e9 de Mayo), Gallagher chante une version acoustique en vacances avec son fr\u00e8re Paul et son fils Lennon. Une vid\u00e9o de t\u00e9l\u00e9phone capte un local qui l’encourage. Deux ans plus tard, le morceau fini parle du divorce avec Nicole Appleton et des amis qui \u00ab\u00a0scarper when the shit hits the fan\u00a0\u00bb, dit-il \u00e0 Crack : cocher des noms sur une liste de to-dos.<\/p>\n

Une ligne, \u00ab\u00a0there’s no love worth chasing yesterday\u00a0\u00bb, salue l’album 2015 de Noel Gallagher Chasing Yesterday<\/em> sans transformer le titre en r\u00e8glement de comptes fraternel. Au Royaume-Uni le cut atteint la 60e place en streaming\/t\u00e9l\u00e9chargement pendant que \u00ab\u00a0Wall of Glass\u00a0\u00bb m\u00e8ne \u00e0 la radio. Le titre de l’album a d’ailleurs remplac\u00e9 un nom de travail : un temps, tout le disque devait s’appeler Bold<\/em>.<\/p>\n

En studio l’arrangement refuse la d\u00e9coration ; le point, c’est la voix qui admet la faute sans supplier pour une r\u00e9\u00e9criture du pass\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Sur As You Were<\/em>, c’est le titre qui prouve que Gallagher peut \u00e9crire seul apr\u00e8s Beady Eye et sonner encore comme lui : direct, m\u00e9lodique, et fini de faire semblant que la liste de to-dos \u00e9tait le travail de quelqu’un d’autre.<\/p>\n
