Publi\u00e9 sur l\u2019album Tuesday Night Music Club en 1994, ce morceau a plus de poids que ses fr\u00e8res plus bruyants, <em>All I Wanna Do<\/em> et <em>Leaving Las Vegas<\/em>. Construit sur une ossature country-folk avec une percussion discr\u00e8te et une guitare acoustique en colonne vert\u00e9brale, il donne l\u2019impression d\u2019avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crit d\u2019un seul souffle et habit\u00e9 pendant des ann\u00e9es avant d\u2019\u00eatre enregistr\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"1102\">N\u00e9 dans une brume de collaboration, ce morceau a vu le jour. Le Tuesday Night Music Club de Crow \u00e9tait un v\u00e9ritable rendez-vous hebdomadaire de musiciens et d\u2019auteurs, un collectif informel r\u00e9unissant le producteur Bill Bottrell et des musiciens comme David Baerwald et Kevin Gilbert. De cette sc\u00e8ne sont sortis des morceaux qui semblaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 faire partie de la vie. <em>Strong Enough<\/em> n\u2019a pas fait exception. Sa force brute est un r\u00e9sidu d\u2019\u00e9motion, pas un vernis de studio. Elle ne supplie pas. Elle ne pleure pas, ne sanglote pas. Elle demande, sur ce ton tremblant qui oscille entre d\u00e9termination et effondrement : \u00ab Es-tu assez fort pour \u00eatre mon homme ? \u00bb Ce n\u2019est pas une ballade pour les romantiques perdus. C\u2019est pour les meurtris, les m\u00e9fiants, ceux qui ont compris que l\u2019amour tient moins aux grandes d\u00e9clarations qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019endurance. La vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 bouleverse non parce qu\u2019elle est mise \u00e0 nu, mais parce qu\u2019elle est ma\u00eetris\u00e9e. Crow ne se d\u00e9sint\u00e8gre pas. Il portait la douceur du Laurel Canyon des ann\u00e9es 70, mais avec un \u00e9tat d\u2019esprit des ann\u00e9es 90 : sans illusions, sans h\u00e9ro\u00efsme, juste une conversation sinc\u00e8re dans un monde \u00e0 bout de souffle. Il laissait s\u2019exprimer un autre type de puissance f\u00e9minine, fond\u00e9e sur la pers\u00e9v\u00e9rance plut\u00f4t que sur la posture ou l\u2019effet de voix. Et celui-ci, \u00e0 la diff\u00e9rence des titres plus tapageurs, s\u2019est faufil\u00e9 lentement dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, trouvant sa place dans des bandes originales, \u00e0 la radio tard le soir, et dans la vie de gens qui, d\u2019habitude, ne se retrouvaient pas dans les chansons pop.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"1252\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">La long\u00e9vit\u00e9 du morceau vient de son refus du drame.
