La Grande-Bretagne ne les a pas eus depuis 1975. L&rsquo;affiche est un festival, Fairport Convention une semaine, les New Barbarians de Ronnie Wood la suivante, mais le champ est l\u00e0 pour Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones et John Bonham. Le promoteur Frederick Bannister construit ces journ\u00e9es autour d&rsquo;une jauge que la presse situe vers 100 000. Peter Grant, le manager, aime les chiffres plus grands. Les photos montrent surtout une pente du Hertfordshire sans bord facile.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ce n&rsquo;est pas un groupe en r\u00e9p\u00e9tition hebdomadaire. Une longue tourn\u00e9e am\u00e9ricaine en 1977 s&rsquo;est mal termin\u00e9e, et les quatre ont surtout v\u00e9cu s\u00e9par\u00e9s. <em>In Through the Out Door<\/em> sort dans quelques jours, et le set emporte deux de ses chansons \u00e0 l&rsquo;air libre avant les disquaires : <em>Hot Dog<\/em> et <em>In the Evening<\/em>. Autour, les vieilles pi\u00e8ces de cath\u00e9drale. <em>Kashmir<\/em>, <em>No Quarter<\/em>, <em>Trampled Under Foot<\/em>, <em>Achilles Last Stand<\/em>, et, tard, <em>Stairway to Heaven<\/em>. L&rsquo;archet de Page sort sous un laser qui allume en rouge les crins et jette une ligne verte mince sur la foule. Un \u00e9cran vid\u00e9o grand comme une maison essaie de donner un visage au fond du champ.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Variety, pr\u00e9sent le second samedi, trouve la premi\u00e8re nuit maltrait\u00e9e par la critique locale et la seconde en meilleure forme. Le groupe est entr\u00e9 apr\u00e8s une longue attente, des disputes en coulisse \u00e0 propos des cam\u00e9ras, la nuit d\u00e9j\u00e0 tomb\u00e9e. La voix de Plant, \u00e9crit le journal, est forte. Les chansons contemplatives peinent \u00e0 porter. Les physiques, non. <em>Stairway<\/em> ferme le set principal et tient. Deux rappels suivent, <em>Rock and Roll<\/em> et <em>Whole Lotta Love<\/em>. Un troisi\u00e8me, <em>Heartbreaker<\/em>, est sur la feuille puis abandonn\u00e9. Il est une heure du matin. Ce sont les derniers concerts de Led Zeppelin en Grande-Bretagne. Bonham meurt en septembre 1980, et le groupe choisit de ne pas continuer sous ce nom. La nuit de 2007 \u00e0 l&rsquo;O2, avec son fils \u00e0 la batterie, est une autre histoire, racont\u00e9e par trois survivants.
