Interview of Tina Turner (1987)

NRK special after Private Dancer

Norway’s NRK special Me, Tina (1987) finds Tina Turner after the long climb of Private Dancer, voice restored to center stage and autobiography already half-written in sweat. She speaks of survival without syrup, of Ike’s shadow without letting it own the frame, of legs, grit, and the pleasure of finally choosing the setlist.

The camera loves the laugh as much as the legend. What remains is voltage: a star who turned endurance into choreography and a setlist she finally chose.
